The Shaw Theatre is delighted to host a special evening of theatre & entertainment honouring the life and legacy of Flip Fraser. This October, join us during Black History Month to remember an icon, 10 years on from his tragic passing
The Shaw Theatre is where Flip launched ‘Black Heroes in the Hall of Fame’ in 1987, encapsulating 5000 years of Black History in a single night of theatre.
Celebrating the captivating journey of Flip's early days in Jamaica, to his influential role in London where he moved aged just 16, eventually becoming the pioneering editor of The Voice Newspaper, through to his creation of the iconic ‘Black Heroes in the Hall of Fame', which (after its inception at The Shaw) became the first all-Black musical to perform in the West End.
