Yakın gelecek… İklim krizinin vurduğu bir dünyadayız! Kıyamet gibi “acayip” bir şey olmuş, ama tam öyle de olmamış! Hiçbir ülkenin istemediği, Parazitler denen göçebe topluluklar çıkmış ortaya. Bir oğlan: Diyar! Bu yeni toplumun hikâye anlatıcılarından biri. Her akşam, ateş başında toplanan Parazitler’e, kıyametin ilk günlerine dönüp darbukasıyla bir hikâye anlatıyor.

That night, the first bombs went off! The ground shook beneath our feet! We ran outside! The sky had turned blood-red, like hell itself! Everything was blazing! Maybe they hit thirty places in Istanbul all at once!
“They’re coming,” said Leyla! There was something so strange in her voice… Like fear, but not quite…
“Who’s coming?” I asked, but she said nothing… She didn’t even turn her head…
But I looked! The fire was all over her face! Her black hair glowed red! Flames swirled in her pupils like a whirlpool!
I forgot the fire, forgot everything burning! Because love is this: when whole cities are burning, being able to turn and look at just one person!

Near future…
We are in a world struck by the climate crisis! Something “weird” like an apocalypse has happened—but not quite! Out of the chaos, emerged the Parasites: nomadic communities unwanted by any country.
And there’s a boy: Diyar!
He is one of the storytellers of this new society. Every evening, gathered around the fire, the Parasites listen to him as he beats his darbuka and takes them back to the first days of the apocalypse.

We’re in Istanbul—where famine and hunger fuel a massive uprising! A conservative movement called Izan seizes the opportunity in the chaos. And then comes a mysterious, “strange” girl: Leyla! She changes the course of Diyar’s entire story…
In the age of raging wildfires, diseases, mass migrations, scorching heat, hunger, and thirst, one question becomes more urgent than all others:
As the world we know slips away, whose hand will we hold, and who will we choose to walk beside?
